Everything Really Is Bigger In Texas

The four-wheel-drive community is comprised of many types of rigs. For some, it's all about having a spotless, mean-looking, massive rig that towers over everything else. These owners have as much deep-seated passion for their rigs as the trail, desert racing, or rockcrawling rig owner.

Chance Kamp is like that. This Richmond, Texas, resident has a history of building big, ultra-clean, in-your-face rigs. This show-quality '05 GMC 2500 HD is his latest creation, and it utilizes some of the products he sells at his Texas-based All Out Offroad shops. The truck was designed to meld old-school brawn with the latest in truck-customizing trends. When Kamp isn't showing the truck or using it as a daily commuter, he says it serves him well during trips to the coastline around Matagorda for some beach exploration.

A collection of bolt-ons adorn the exterior of the rig. There's a front-mounted N-fab Pre-runner bar with three PIAA lights, side-mounted N-fab Nerf-Steps, and an N-fab Rear-runner bar with a pair of PIAA lights. There's also a set of Bushwacker Pocket Style fender flares. All of these components have been painted to match the color of the truck. Rounding out the exterior mods is a Lund billet-aluminum Elliptical grille, a bed-mounted spare, and a set of 22x11 MKW MK19 chrome wheels pressed into a set of 40x15.5 Toyo Open Country M/T tires.

The rear of the truck received 13 inches of lift via Full Throttle leaf springs. It also features four chrome Fox remote-reservoir shocks, a custom N-fab axle truss, and a pair of custom ladder bars. Like the front, all of the suspension components were either powdercoated or chromed. The rear axle, like the front, was regeared with Yukon 4.56:1 gears and the factory limited-slip rear differential was retained. Check out that tailpipe. It's the culmination of an MBRP exhaust that was cut and custom bent to exit from the center of the vehicle.
